Rosetta Cucchi – Opera for Peace Advisor

Rosetta Cucchi, renowned stage director and pianist, joins as new Opera for Peace Advisor. She collaborated on the Opera for Peace Academy 2023 working with the artists and staging the events. Her collaboration continues for the Academy 2024 edition.
Rosetta Cucchi studied at the ‘G.Rossini’ Conservatoire in Pesaro and DAMS University in Bologna. The winner of numerous piano competitions in Italy and abroad, she worked with RAI Symphony Orchestra in Rome as a pianist and became involved in several RAI opera productions. Early on she took up a parallel career as director, debuting with Gardel’s IL PASSO DELL’ANIMA at Teatro Bellini in Catania and a successful production of La scala di seta by Rossini in Teatro La Maestranza in Siville.
Rosetta Cucchi has established herself as one of the most innovative Italian opera directors of her generation. Her portfolio of productions include Rodelinda by Händel and Zaira by Bellini Festival della Valle D’itria, Cenerentola by Rossini, La Traviata Teatro Comunale di Modena and Opera di Tenerife, among many others.
In 2021 she produced in collaboration with Teatro Comunale Bologna and RAI an Opera-Movie of ADRIANA LECOUVREUR by F. Cilea that has been broadcasted on RAI5 and in 2022 a revival of Adriana Lecouvreur at the Oviedo Opera Spain and Sydney Opera (2023). She was also invited to the Venice Biennale 2022 to give a masterclass about operatic stagecraft.
From 2005 to 2018, Rosetta was the Artistic Director of Fondazione Arturo Toscanini in Parma and since 2020 – the new Artistic Director of Wexford Festival Opera.
