As a current Studio Artist at the Houston Grand Opera, Mr. Su has been focusing on his role assignments, including Sparafucile in Rigoletto, and the understudy of Sarastro in The Magic Flute, and King in Aida. William Guanbo Su was a Grand Final Winner at 2019 Metropolitan Opera National Council Audition, he has also won First Prize in the 2017 Liederkranz Foundation Song/Lieder Competition, and Third Prize in 2018 Gerda Lissner Opera Competition. He was also the second prize winner at the Eleanor McCollum Competition at Houston Grand Opera in 2019. He has appeared with such opera companies as Houston Grand Opera, Lyric Opera of Chicago, Opera Theatre of Saint Louis and The Chinese National Centre of the Performing Arts. Mr. Su holds a Master of Music degree from The Juilliard School and Bachelor of Music Degree from Manhattan School of Music, New York.
