Clelia Cafiero

Conductor

Clelia Cafiero is an Italian pianist and Conductor. She grew up in Naples and studied in Milan, Salzburg and Switzerland. Considered an “enfantprodige” she won numerous piano competitions and she received excellent reviews in many national and international music journals (The Strad, Suonarenews, Corriere della sera, Trouw Nederland, Provenceclassique). She performed across the whole of Italy (Opera of Rome, Regio of Turin, Teatro alla Scala of Milan) and around the world (Musikverein of Wien, Concertgebouw of Amsterdam, Philarmonie of Paris, Auditorio National de Madrid, Philarmonie of Luxemburg and Royal Albert Hall of London).

She is the assistant conductor of Marseille Opera and she will be associate of music director L. Foster until the 2021 season. She conducted a symphonic concert in which she performed Ravel concerto in play/conducting mode. Outstanding soloists who have already marked her career include Karine Deshayes, Jessica Pratt, Ermonela Jaho, Melody Moore, and Jonas Kaufmann.
